Sustaining
Positive Change |
Formula for Happiness
Commitment will give you character.
Character will give you dignity.
Dignity will give you divinity.
Divinity will give you grace.
Grace will give you the power to sacrifice.
Power to sacrifice will give you achievement, and then you'll
be happy.
- Yogi Bhajan

Dear Awareness Center Family,
Thanks and appreciation for Grand opening celebration. As I watch
the flow of students, friends and teachers through the center, I
am constantly struck by how we all move through patterns of awareness,
cycles of energy and depletion. There are times where we feel motivated,
ready to act and we need a vigorous practice. Other times all we
want to do is stretch deeply or fall into a blissful sleep. I see
some students come year after year to the same class, others come
intensely for only three months and then drop off. The students
who stop (we’ve all been there) have good intentions but even
better excuses: “No time.” “No money.” “I’m
not flexible.” We have these transformative experiences a
few times and then we let the challenges of life get in the way.
How long are we going to let the excuses affect the quality of our
lives? “What does it take?” I wonder to myself, “What
does it take to support people in sustaining positive life changes?”
My life purpose is to answer that question, live it myself and show
others how to do the same.
For starters, there must be an awakening from the illusion of perfection.
Next, a willingness to show up and be in the practice, regardless
of how you “feel” on any given day. Kundalini Yoga,
Hatha Yoga – they can change your life. But to sustain positive
life changes over time…that is the real practice.

Wahe Guru Kaur and “Team Awareness” (AC Staff and Teachers)
